Many of you have been hearing about problems caused by some Chinese drywall. Part of its components are believed by some to cause corrosion of wiring/pipes, respiratory problems in humans and other issues in the homes where it was installed.
I am NOT a contractor or chemistry expert, so I am glad that the US Consumer Product Safety Commission has set up a site on the internet that homeowners can access for information about this issue. To access this new site, click on the following link: http://www.cpsc.gov/info/drywall
The problem with this defective drywall mostly affects homes built in recent years, 2000 or later. If yours was built in 1952, 1975 or 1990, you likely have nothing to worry about. But for those who feel that their homes may contain problem drywall, a visit to this site may be of value. Never hurts to be kept up-to-date.
If you live in Florida, you can also get information about this problem in our state by clicking on the following link: http://www.doh.state.fl.us/environment/community/indoor-air/drywall.html
