Last Saturday, I went to our new Zephyrhills Flea Market. I am told they are open three days a week, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The hours are from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the above days. At least that is what my dad tells me and he goes there to sell plants and flowers he raises in his own greenhouse in Dade City as a hobby.
Some of you may remember the flea market that was held on the westside of town at the Eagles. You probably also remember the traffic congestion on market days as well. That should not be a problem at this new location. They appear to have plenty of room for parking there. That is a big plus.
To get to the new flea market, you go east on Chancey Road from US 301. Cross over Rt. 39/Paul Buchanan Highway and continue just a little further. Soon you will see the county park/ballfield on the left side of the road and the flea market entrance is just a short distance further, also on the left/north side of the road. If it helps you, it is just east of Majestic Oaks and Emerald Point RV parks.
Flea markets are often fun to attend, and bargains can be found. Lots of you have heard of the big one up in Webster in Sumter County. Now it will be nice to have one so close to our town again!
Do try to stop by since an abundance of patrons will assure that plenty of vendors will take part and that will mean continued success for the flea market. Personally I think having one in Zephyrhills is a great idea and that it will be a popular place for year-round residents and winter snowbirds alike. So go by and see what they have to offer! If you see my dad selling his plants next to the Italian sausage concession, be sure to stop in and tell him "Hello".
