Florida Storm Season Evacuation Sites in Pasco County for 2010

Storm We will soon be in the 2010 hurricane season. Some say it will be busier than in the past few years. Let's hope not. Rain we need. Our underground aquifers are very very low. Hurricanes and tornadoes we DO NOT.

However, in the event that a hurricane does approach our area, it is wise for you to know which evacuation center is nearest to you, just in case you have to evacuate. The last thing you want to do is to search for it at the  last minute. This is especially crucial if you live in a mobile home or RV. Even those that are solidly tied down are unlikely to survive a direct hit from a tornado. So do not take any chances.

If you live in Pasco County, Florida you can click on the following link and see which centers are the nearest ones to you. If you need directions to any of them, just click on each school's name to find out how to get there. To see the Pasco County list CLICK HERE. You can also find links on that page that can help you prepare your home and get your family ready for a major storm. As they say, "better safe than sorry".

You can also download this year's evacuation zone map for Pasco County in Adobe PDF format by clicking on the following link: Download 2010-Evacuation-Map for Pasco County

You can also check out the State of Florida's site at: http://www.floridadisaster.org/ for even more suggestions and info.

Let's hope we have a mild hurricane season this year. Rain yes! Violent storms, no way!
