Real Estate Columnist Robert Bruss Passes Away

Robert_bruss I just heard that syndicated real estate columnist Robert Bruss has died. Way back when I was still a teacher I used to read his columns in the Tampa Tribune, and in a way he ingnited my interest in real estate as a career. I did not always agree with him, but more often than not he recommended that buyers and sellers use REALTORs to assist them in their transactions. He was a great supporter of our profession. I even heard him say that, though he was qualified to do it, when he bought or sold properties he worked with a real estate professional. I am sure he helped many agents and their clients over his long career. I think our industry has lost a good friend today.

Sorry to hear that - where did you teach???

I taught for 1 year in New Jersey, 1 year in western New York, 8 years in Pasco County, Florida, 8 years in Bilbao, Spain, and then was an assistant director at a school in the Canary Islands. Came back here and taught 9th grade one year and that was "all she wrote". Too many changes here in education, and not positive ones. So I made the move to real estate. 20 years was long enough.

WOW - I used to teach too - have to say I got out of it for the same reason! I started in Europe and continued when I got Stateside - but now it is more paperwork for administration than it is teaching!!!
