Tropical Storm Gustav is still heading across the Gulf of Mexico and 5 day projections show it heading toward Mississippi and Louisiana. Some are predicting it will slow its forward movement over the gulf and could pick up strength. Also be aware the Tropical Storm Hanna is to the east of Puerto Rico and bears watching. Looks like this one will go over the Bahamas and could come close to Florida. Still several days away though at this point in time. You can click on the image to the left to see the projected path of Gustav, as of Friday, August 29th.
While it appears that Gustav will not come anywhere near the Zephyrhills and the Tampa areas of Florida, it will pay for residents of these zones to keep an eye on the storm as it marches westward. As well, as watching the progress of TS Hanna. See the link in the next paragraph. Do be aware that if storm warnings or watches go up in Florida, property insurance underwriting on new policies will likely be suspended. Most contracts used by real estate professionals in Florida address this possibility. See your agent for more information.
